The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order allocating ₹828.36 crore for implementing the Member of Legislative Assembly Constituency Development Scheme (MLACDS) for 2026-27.
A Government Order to this effect was issued by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. The amount sanctioned will be used for implementing the select list of works that fall under the ambit of the scheme for all 234 Assembly segments, with each Assembly segment getting ₹3.54 crore. This includes the 18% Goods and Services Tax component of ₹54 lakh.
The government also released the detailed guidelines for implementation of MLACDS from 2026-27 to 2030-31. The MLAs can submit their proposals to the Collectors in the districts and to the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner in Chennai. The government has ordered the Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj to disburse the funds to the respective Collectors and the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner.
