Disappointed over the Tamil Nadu government's opposition to establish Navodaya Vidyalaya in the State, BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday said that his party would mobilise students and stage a protest if the State government did not change its position.
Mr. Nagenthran referred to a media report stating that the Tamil Nadu government, in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court in connection with a case, opposed the establishment of Navodaya Vidyalaya schools in the State.
"Students of Navodaya Vidyalaya schools are provided nutritious meals, uniform, and books free of cost. It is disappointing to note that the TVK government is following the anti-student approach adopted by the DMK government and acting like its B-team," he said.
