Former AIADMK IT wing secretary Singai G. Ramachandran on Tuesday joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in the presence of party president and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the latter’s residence in Chennai.

Mr. Ramachandran is the son of former AIADMK Singanallur MLA Singai Govindarajan. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from IIM Ahmedabad and had served as the AIADMK IT wing secretary before being appointed the party’s student wing secretary.

He unsuccessfully contested the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha election on an AIADMK ticket, finishing third behind DMK’s Ganapathy P. Rajkumar, who won, and then BJP State president K. Annamalai, who finished second. Mr. Ramachandran had recently quit the AIADMK.
