DENVER (KDVR) — Larimer Square is home to restaurants, thrift shops, bars, and now, a new Western store known for its boots and customized hats.

On Tuesday, Ariat, a Western lifestyle shop, opened on Larimer Square near Comedy Works and The Capital Grille. This shop is only the second Ariat in Colorado.

The shop is known for its selection of Western wear, like its clothing, cowboy boots and hats. This Denver shop has a "hat doctor," where hat experts help with custom hat fitting, shaping and branding.

While the brand has been around for over three decades, this is only the second store to open in Colorado. The other shop is located in an outlet in Castle Rock, and this will be the first standalone store in Denver.

"Larimer Square, the heart and creative pulse of downtown Denver, embodies the city’s pioneering spirit. The area blends historic charm with a modern revival, offering a dynamic, community-focused destination. It is a landmark spot for both locals and tourists, making it the ideal location for Ariat to deliver a premium, unforgettable shopping experience," a spokesperson for Ariat said.

The new shop lies on 1460 Larimer Street in the G. W. & W. M. Clayton Building, also known as the Granite Building. The shop said it is the oldest surviving structure in Larimer Square, which was built in 1882 on the original site of William Larimer’s log cabin.
