On Tuesday, June 24, police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Marion Drive, near the intersection of East San Miguel Street and North Academy Boulevard, at around 12:58 a.m. for a disturbance at an apartment complex. According to CSPD, this was the 10th call that night for the same two groups that were causing a disturbance at the complex.
One group of adults and minors stated they were "jumped" outside in the courtyard by the first group. Both disturbances allegedly involved individuals hitting others with kitchen pots and pans. During the second disturbance, a minor was assaulted with pots and pans by what police say appeared to be five individuals.
Two of them, an unidentified minor and an adult, identified as 19-year-old Amiya Guzman, were arrested. The other three individuals who were involved in the assault have not been identified.
