Aston Villa face Manzambi transfer delay after Newcastle agreement
Aston Villa must first sort out their finances before they can sign Johan Manzambi, according to The Chronicle.
Newcastle United verbally agreed on wages with the Switzerland international after positive talks. Manzambi, however, did not sign after being asked, and there is now said to be radio silence at this stage, after taking time to consider his options.
The Magpies are understandably disappointed that their deal could be about to fall through. They have a £ 49 million transfer in place with his club, Freiburg, but Manzambi reportedly wants to sign for Villa now rather than join Newcastle this summer.
