Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- A man was taken into police custody on unrelated charges after a deadly shooting in Blue River on Monday evening.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired near Aspen Meadows around 6:20 p.m. and heard gunfire at the scene, the Blue River Police Department said in a post on Facebook.
The department said law enforcement called out a person from a nearby home and he was taken into custody.
Investigators then searched the residence and found a person dead inside.
The police department said the "suspect has been taken into custody on charges unrelated to the shooting incident."
The victim's identity is not yet being released pending next of kin notification, and it will be released by the Summit County Coroner's Office at a later date. The suspect is not being identified due to the ongoing investigation.
"Authorities emphasize that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat or danger to the community," the police department wrote.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation with help from Blue River Police. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police department at 970-547-0545, extension 2.
