Horrifying Halloween leaderboard
Show-closer Lacey Turner tops the spooky standings, with John Nellis in second spot. Graeme Hall and Tabby Stoecker are joint bottom, with Lawrence Robb just above.
That could all change before tomorrow’s extra-dreaded three-way dance-off, of course. As Emma pointed out, there are three different ties on the scoreboard.
Credits roll
“Keeeeeep dancing,” say our ghostly, hostly throuple. As the jack-o-lanterns are blown out and the pumpkins repurposed as warming soups/veggie curries/scarecrow’s heads, please stay with us for analysis, reaction and a round-up of your creepy comments.
Motsi gets the casting vote
The deciding vote in tomorrow’s results show goes to… A floaty faerie! Aka Motsi Mabuse. In a three-way dance-off, it could be even more crucial than usual.
Tonight’s 11 routines get recapped on-screen. Which scarily good duo are you voting for? Which terrifyingly bad pair are you very certainly not? I can’t believe you even asked, get out.
And voting is… drum roll… dramatic pause… open!
The ribbon is officially snipped on the public poll. Spooky props are brandished. Macabre masks are worn.
Judges’ scores: 9, 9, 9, 9 for a total of 36 points. Top of the pops. Vito loves her so much.
Judges’ comments: Craig says “Lacey, that was… good”. Oh. Motsi says “best dance of the night”. Shirley says “huge improvement, you shocked me”. Anton concludes “clean, clear, timing was amazing, finished everything, well done you”.
Lacey and Vito’s chilling Charleston
Last dance now and it should be a goodie. EastEnders actor Lacey Turner’s scores have been stuck in the late 20s. Could this be the number that sees her make the leap into the 30s? Jazzy flapper girl styling. Fun, fast and full-on with elements of lindyhop. Spectacular lifts and risky choreography from pro partner Vito Coppola. Splits, kicks and quirky characterisation. That crucial swivel for Craig. Full of bounce and good side-by-side synchronisation. Bob Fosse styling, packed with tricks, a proper Charleston. Stunning. Love, love, love.
Song: Crazy Stupid Love by Cheryl Cole feat Tinie Tempah. The 2014 chart-topper was originally recorded by Kylie Minogue but when her manager deemed it too poppy, Cheryl picked it up, added extra writing and roped in Tinie for a guest rap.
Judges’ scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 for a total of 32 points. Her highest yet. The papis are happy.
Judges’ comments: Mosti says “so immersive, I couldn’t look away, a little mistake at the end but you yanked him off”. Ahem. Shirley says “heel leads, turns and frame better, a huge improvement”. Anton says “your best dance yet, take a wider side step to avoid getting cramped but overall, great”. Craig concludes “brilliant”.
She got an A-star in GCSE drama and it showed.
