Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) — Part of Speer Boulevard will be temporarily closed this weekend and a detour will be in place due to a safety inspection.
Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure announced a temporary closure of the Speer Boulevard tunnel, between Bannock Street and Grant Street, expected to happen late Saturday night into the morning on Sunday.
It will be closed from 11:00 p.m. Saturday to 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
Motorists going eastbound will be affected by this closure, and westbound traffic will not be impacted.
The detour will be from Speer Boulevard onto North Broadway to Sixth Avenue, then head back south to access Speer Boulevard.
DOTI said in a press release that the temporary closure is due to a routine safety inspection and "encourages people to give themselves a little extra time to go around the temporary closure and appreciates the public’s patience."
