Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- There will be a safety checkpoint in Rocky Mountain National Park beginning on Saturday, as part of increased law enforcement patrols for the Fourth of July weekend.
The safety checkpoint will be manned by RMNP rangers, while officers with the Colorado State Patrol conduct a saturation patrol outside the park, according to the RMNP, which said officers with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office will also be involved.
"This coordinated effort between Rocky Mountain National Park and the Colorado State Patrol aims to support public safety during the holiday weekend," the park said, in a news release.
The park said earlier this month that it expects the holiday weekend to be busy, and advised visitors to "pack your patience," and plan ahead by checking webcams before entering the park from one of the east-side entrances. Visitors are also advised to have park passes, IDs and registration confirmations ready upon arrival.
