DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado Rockies are officially in the second half of the 2025 MLB season. The team will want to forget about the historically poor first half and look to righting their course for the remaining games.

Who did the Avs take in the 2025 NHL Draft?

What did the Rockies do in the first half of the season?

The team set a lot of records — none of them good.

The Rockies set the record for the worst 42-game start, 50-game start and 70-game start.

They are the first team since 1904 to win fewer than 19 of their first 81 games.

Where do the Rockies stand right now?

Well — it's still not looking great

At the moment, the Rockies are the worst team in the MLB with a record of 18 wins and 65 losses. The nearest team is the Chicago White Sox, who sit at 26 and 56. With the way the Rockies have been playing, an eight-game win gap really isn't too bad.

Statisticians don't have much hope for the future, projecting that the Rockies will finish the season at 37-125.

This would put the Rockies as the team with the most losses in the modern era of MLB, which started in 1901. The 2024 White Sox are the current record holders at 121. The Rockies are also projected to hover around the fewest wins mark in the modern era. That record is held by the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics team that went 36-117.

The good news — the Rockies only need to win three more games to surpass the all-time record, regardless of era, set by the ignominious 1899 Cleveland Spiders, who went 20-134.
