Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPUEBLO, Colo. (KDVR) — The Pueblo Police Department confirmed Tuesday that an armed suspect died in an officer-involved shooting on July 8 after officers responded to a domestic disturbance.
According to PPD, around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived at the scene on Glen Royal Drive, near Pueblo Boulevard and West Northern Avenue, in response to a call reporting that a man was threatening his family members with a gun. Officers saw a man with a gun at the scene and ordered him to drop the weapon.
PPD reported that the suspect failed to comply with the orders and raised the gun toward the officers, at which time an officer fired a shot and hit the suspect. The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
No officers or bystanders were injured in the incident. The 10th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team, led by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, has been activated and will lead the investigation.
The Pueblo County Coroner will identify the suspect.
