Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- Parker Road is closed in both directions amid an investigation into multiple fires on Monday afternoon.
The fires are under control, but South Metro Fire Rescue said crews are still on the scene near Mississippi Avenue working on mop-up efforts, and the road will remain closed "for a period of time."
SMFR first said it responded to a vegetation fire at 1181 Parker Rd. after 1:30 p.m., and the fire had spread to one business structure before 2 p.m. By 2:24 p.m., the agency said firefighters were working on hot spots along a nearby canal and in the structure's attack and decking.
All occupants in the business evacuated safely.
South Metro Fire Rescue said that "multiple fires started along the canal in the area," and they are being investigated as suspicious by the Fire Marshal's Office.
SMFR said the Denver Fire Department and Aurora Fire Rescue also responded to assist, along with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.
FOX31 has a crew headed to the scene to learn more and this article will be updated.
