Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- The city of Northglenn assured residents on Friday that its drinking water is safe to drink, despite having sudden "taste" and "odor" issues it attributed to natural materials getting stirred up in its reservoirs and pipes.
The city, in a post on X, said the recent spike in temperatures led to a sudden increase in water usage, causing the natural materials to become unsettled.
Despite its newfound taste and smell, the city said the issue is temporary and that the drinking water does not present any health risks.
The city said it is actively looking into treatment options to help mitigate the issue. Residents with questions can contact John Winterton, laboratory supervisor for water quality for the city, by phone at 303-450-4074.
The city warned that the issue may persist for a few more days.
