Security company owner Tariq Downes, senior Crime Intelligence official Major General Feroz Khan and Gauteng Hawks head Major General Ebrahim Kadwa appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Senior Crime Intelligence official, Major General Feroz Khan, and the head of the Hawks in Gauteng, Major General Ebrahim Kadwa, were each granted R20 000 bail in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Their co-accused, security company owner Tariq Downes, was also granted R20 000 bail.

They were charged with contravening Section 4 of the Precious Metals Act 37 of 2005 and defeating the ends of justice.
The State did not oppose their release on bail. Rather, the prosecution reached an agreement with their lawyers.
The three were arrested in connection with a suspicious interception at OR Tambo International Airport involving nearly R250 000 worth of unwrought gold.
News24 exclusively revealed that the case against the three was anchored, in part, to a 5 May 2021 police seizure report that was compiled after Downes was stopped while allegedly attempting to board a flight from Johannesburg to Durban with about 300g of unwrought precious metal concealed in a Gucci sling bag.
