Taxi boss Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni has been arrested along with two others on extortion-related charges.

News24 understands that Sibanyoni was arrested last night in Pretoria, near Centurion.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo said three people were arrested in connection with a case from 2025.

“We cannot mention the name until the person appears in court,” Masondo said.

Sibanyoni has been linked to alleged underworld figures, including Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala, and has been mentioned in evidence in the Madlanga Commission on numerous occasions.
