The prosecutor who failed to attend the Mpumalanga court for the R2.2 million Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni extortion and money laundering case is set to meet with National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) officials on Tuesday.
According to NPA spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago, prosecutor Mkhuseli Ntaba has been located and is expected to meet with Mpumalanga Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Sonja Josiah Ntuli.
“The DPP will send the report to the National Director of Public Prosecutions so that we take this matter forward,” Kganyago said.
On Monday, Chief Magistrate Tule-tu Tonjeni issued a warrant of arrest after waiting for four hours for Ntaba to arrive at the Kwaggafontein Magistrate’s Court.
National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) Advocate Andy Mothibi has suspended Ntaba, pending disciplinary proceedings.
