DENVER (KDVR) -- Rooftop bars have grown popular in the Mile High City, offering views of the city lights and skyline as well as mountain peaks that you can see from Denver.

Denverites will soon get to enjoy a new 360-degree view while they sip, dine and even swim at a new rooftop bar and restaurant set to open this summer in the River North Arts District.

Rose & Thorn is located at the top of The Penrose apartment building at 1740 36th St. The concept has two parts: Rose, the rooftop bar and restaurant, and Thorn, an underground cocktail lounge.

Guests will take the elevator up to Rose, which features indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a food and beverage menu designed for luxury lounging and a reservation-only pool. The same elevator can take guests down to Thorn, which the restaurant describes as a "dramatically different world" that will feature live DJ sets, moody lighting and a curated cocktail menu.

Rose is set to open to the public with an event on Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Thorn will debut later this summer. The grand opening will feature drink activations, live DJs and more.

“We set out to create something Denver hasn’t seen: a luxurious, all-day destination that adapts to your mood,” Ciaran O'Brien, with the restaurant's ownership group, Ósta Holdings, said. “Rose & Thorn is a layered hospitality concept offering a refined atmosphere whether you are looking to relax in the sun or sink into something a little more intimate. Each space stands on its own, but together they create something truly unique.”

Bar lead Alan Garcia curated a premium wine list and cocktail menu with seasonal ingredients and top-shelf spirits.

“We’ve paid just as much attention to the wine list and spirit selection as we have to designing drinks that are both fun and thoughtfully composed. Guests will find familiar flavors with unexpected twists, along with a few playful surprises," Garcia said in a press release.

In addition to the new social venue, a separate, high-end Airbnb unit called "The Rose Petal" will debut on the penthouse level, and its guests will have VIP access to the rooftop venue.
