A missing model has been found dead inside a suitcase after vanishing on holiday in Serbia.
Lyudmila Turkova, 27, had been missing for six days after going out to "meet friends" at a nightclub in Belgrave.
Her body was found in a suitcase that was dumped in the Vizelj canal and spotted by locals who called the police.
A Turkish man identified only as 25-year-old K.E. was detained today at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport seeking to leave Serbia. He is the main murder suspect.
Ms Turkova's remains were located in the water by a police dog.
Officers did not disclose how she was killed.
A local report said: "The body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where [...] the cause of her death will be determined after an autopsy."
A missing persons appeal described Turkova as 5ft 1inch tall with long blonde hair, a nose piercing and several tattoos, including two snakes on the front of her left thigh, a large calligraphic design on her right lower leg, and Japanese-style tattoos on her shoulders.
She was from St Petersburg, Russia, and had worked as a promoter, bartender and body-art model.
Turkova had planned to stay in Belgrade for two weeks but vanished on July 25.
The tourist was last heard from after 11pm before her phone became unreachable.
