Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) — One of the United States' largest military contractors has opened a new facility in Englewood to help scale its "delivery of ground system capabilities that deliver mission-critical data to American and allied warfighters."
The facility was built by Northrop Grumman Corp., an aerospace manufacturer that is among the top five largest of the top 100 contractors of the U.S. Federal Government.
According to its report filed in 2024 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Northrop Grumman said it depends "heavily on a single customer, the U.S. government, for a substantial portion of our business. Changes in this customer’s strategies, priorities and spending could have a material adverse effect on our financial position, results of operations and/or cash flows."
On June 23, the company announced it had opened a new, 100,000 square foot integration facility. The defense contractor noted that fixed and mobile ground system technology can help give critical information to warfighter missions at the farthest edges of the battlefield. The company said that often there is limited connectivity at these locations, but the right information at the right time is crucial. The company said the new facility will provide resiliency in any mission.
"These capabilities support space surveillance, missile warning and defense, satellite operations and data processing in operational environments, anywhere at any time," Northrop Grumman wrote in its announcement of the new facility.
“Northrop Grumman’s Highfield Integration Facility adds to our existing one million square feet of Colorado infrastructure and further enables our production of innovative ground systems that provide the Department of Defense and intelligence communities with any data, at any place, at any time, for any mission,” said Murali Krishnan, vice president, payload and ground systems, Northrop Grumman. “This is another proof point in how the company continues to scale facilities across the U.S. to drive innovation at unprecedented speeds.”
The facility appears to be part of the company's ground defense systems that connect earth to space with mission management and processing, missile warning and tracking, and space domain awareness and the tactical edge, according to the company's website.
