Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) — A Milliken man finally cashed in his lottery ticket for $2 million last week, a ticket that was extra lucky as it had randomly picked numbers and was doubled in winnings after new Mega Millions rules.
On Friday, the Colorado Lottery announced that the lucky winner who purchased one of Colorado's highest Mega Millions payouts in mid-June finally came forward after purchasing a $2 million ticket at a 7-Eleven in Johnstown.
The lottery said Leopoldo R. of Milliken purchased his ticket at a Johnstown 7-Eleven at 6150 E. US Highway 34. He used Quick Pick, which randomly chose the winning numbers for a Mega Millions lottery ticket. While his ticket was only worth $1 million, a new rule doubled the winnings.

Mega Millions changed the game with better odds and bigger wins. It increased the lottery ticket prices to $5, up from a $2 ticket. While this upped the cost, it also increased the payout. Now, with every non-jackpot win is multiplied by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X automatically.
For Leopoldo's ticket, the lottery said it came with a 2X multiplier, making his ticket worth $2 million. If Leopoldo had a higher multiplier on his ticket, he could've won up to $10 million on his single ticket.
Colorado Lottery said Leopoldo "was in shock when he checked his Mega Millions ticket and found that he had won $2,000,000."
This is one of the biggest wins in the state. The lottery said Colorado has only seen three $4 million, two $2 million and five $1 million winners before this win.
