NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli was named in India's ODI squad for the upcoming tour of England after missing the Afghanistan series due to injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Sunday.

However, Virat Kohli's participation in the much-anticipated ODI series is subject to fitness clearance.India will play the three ODIs against England at Edgbaston (July 14), Sophia Gardens (July 16) and Lord's (July 19).Jasprit Bumrah is also back in the ODI setup. The fast bowler was rested for both the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan as part of the BCCI’s workload management plan.Kohli had suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL 2026 final and was subsequently ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan.All-rounder Axar Patel has returned to the ODI squad after missing the Afghanistan series. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj have not been included in the squad for the England tour.Gurnoor Brar has retained his place in the squad. Prince Yadav, meanwhile, has missed out, with Harshit Rana returning to the side.The BCCI also said that Varun Chakaravarthy is in the final stages of recovery from a foot injury sustained during IPL 2026 and will therefore miss the T20I series in Ireland.
