A judge has declared a mistrial in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother charged with killing her three young children at the family’s home in Duxbury in January 2023. Clancy, a former labour and delivery nurse, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder. Her lawyers have not disputed that she killed the children, but argue she should not be held criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time. Prosecutors argue Clancy was not legally insane and planned the killings, pointing to her actions before and after the children’s deaths.
