Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) — Hundreds of signs, with all kinds of messages altogether for one purpose. No kings in Castle Rock.
"You feel like you're doing something rather than sitting behind a keyboard trying to be a keyboard warrior," Carrie, who attended the protest, said. “It makes it feel like something is changing. Something is shifting.”
Horns honking by cars passing by and cheers coming from the crowd. One woman said her company is losing people out of fear of ICE coming and sending them back to their home countries.
"I know their families, I know their loved ones,” Molly, who was in Castle Rock for the protest, said. “It's breaking my heart right now, at this moment, there's nothing I can do.”
Others said the tariffs are hurting their business, impacting them personally and this is the start of something bigger.
"I think that today in general is going to be a huge movement and they're not gonna be able to ignore us anymore," Carrie said.
Organizers said the protests taking place today are cementing their place in history, together.
“I have to do something, something, I want my kids — I want my grandkids to know that during this time somebody stepped up,” volunteer Theresa Dieringer said.
Organizers told FOX 31 an estimated 2,500 people showed up in Castle Rock for the demonstration.
"I can't imagine not being part of this today," Molly said.
