The park said law enforcement rangers responded and are leading an "ongoing investigation" and that the Larimer County Coroner's Office will confirm positive identification of the individual.
No further information was made availabe at the time of this writing. Additional information will be released when the next-of-kin is identified and have been notifed, the park said.
The Alpine Ridge is a hiking trail at the park. It is only 0.6 miles in distance round trip, but has an elevation gain of 162 feet, according to the National Park Service. The trail typically opens in mid to late June.
