ACFR said in a post on X that its Type 3 Brush truck crew is continuing to battle what has been dubbed the Hilltop Fire, in Garfield County.
The Hilltop Fire has burned more than 326 acres so far, according to ACFR, which said its crew will be conducting "mop up operations" on Saturday.
The Garfield County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post on Friday that crews from multiple agencies would continue working through the weekend to "strengthen containment lines, suppress hot spots and perform mop-up operations."
In addition to itself and ACFR, agencies supporting the fire efforts include the Grand Valley Fire Protection District, Colorado River Fire Rescue, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Colorado Springs Fire Department and the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office said early Friday morning that approximately 20-25 houses in the immediate area of the intersection of County Road 309 and County Roa 320 were evacuated due to the fire, with other residents in the area put on a "pre-evacuation alert."
Initial reports indicated one home and one RV were lost in the fire, the sheriff's office said, at the time.
