HDFC Bank shares rose close to 2 per cent on Thursday after the private sector lender announced changes to its senior leadership, appointing V N Srivatsan as its new Chief Compliance Officer and reporting the departure of Group Head of Legal and Group General Counsel Sudhir Kumar Jha.
The stock ended at day’s high level of ₹721.20, touched an intraday high of ₹721.30 after opening nearly flat at ₹708.40, compared with its previous close of ₹708.70.

The private lender has appointed V N Srivatsan as its new Chief Compliance Officer for a three-year term, effective January 4, 2027. Meanwhile, Sudhir Kumar Jha, Group Head of Legal and Group General Counsel, stepped down from his position with effect from September 30, 2026.
The leadership changes come amid a broader management overhaul at the lender and its efforts to strengthen its governance frameworks.

HDFC Bank recorded a total traded volume of 371.47 lakh shares, with a traded value of ₹2,661.58 crore. The bank’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹11.11 lakh crore, while its adjusted price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 13.64.
Stock performance
HDFC Bank shares declined 1.06 per cent over the week. However, the stock posted a marginal gain of 1.31 per cent over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the stock was down 27.24 per cent.
