Gold prices on Thursday rose by ₹1,475 to ₹1,50,511 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contract for October delivery traded higher by ₹1,475, or 0.99 per cent, at ₹1,50,511 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 2,019 lots.
Fresh positions by market participants led to a rise in the precious metal's prices, analysts said.
Gold futures rose 0.59 per cent to $4,182.06 per ounce in New York.
