DENVER (KDVR) — Severe weather touched down on Sunday, with hail as large as eggs and even a tornado in some areas of Colorado.

On Sunday afternoon, Denver mostly saw thunder and rain, while other areas in Colorado received large hail and other severe weather. In Morgan County, about 13 miles east of Fort Morgan, there was a confirmed tornado.

Hail the size of an inch fell in several places, which the National Weather Service said is about the diameter of a quarter. Meanwhile, 1.25-inch hail, the size of a half dollar, 1.5-inch hail, the size of a ping pong ball, 1.75-inch hail, the size of a golf ball and 2-inch hail, the size of a lime or a medium-sized hen egg, were recorded in other parts of Colorado.

On Sunday, hail fell across Colorado, anywhere from Denver to Pueblo. While several areas saw hail, some places received bigger hail than others.

Hail the size of eggs and ping pong balls was recorded in Colorado Springs, with Manitou Springs seeing hail the size of a golf ball. One viewer sent FOX31 a photo of hail in Monument, north of Colorado Springs, of hail covering the road like snow.

In the metro, the largest hail recorded was in Edgewater, which saw ping pong-sized hail. Meanwhile, Aurora, Denver and Wheat Ridge saw hail the size of a quarter.

This severe weather isn't over. More thunderstorms will hit the metro on Monday with large hail, strong winds and an isolated tornado potentially toward the east.
