Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark hasn't had an ideal start to her second season in the WNBA. She started out the season with a quad strain that forced her to miss two weeks.
Recently, Clark came back from that injury and started to play her way back into basketball shape. In the month of June, she has been averaging 17.6 points per game.
It was clear that she still wasn't fully healthy because she was missing shots she normally makes. Now, she's going to miss more time with another injury.

Clark has suffered an injury on the same left leg that cost her those two weeks. This time, it's a groin injury. She has been ruled out of Thursday night's game against the Sparks.

At this point, it's unclear how many games this left groin injury could cost her. The Fever are going to be cautious with her, especially since it's the same leg she previously injured.
It was pretty clear that Clark was suffering some sort of injury. She was just 1/23 from three during their most recent road trip.
This is not an injury that the Fever wanted to have after the Dewanna Bonner situation. They just released her after she had stepped away from the team.
It would have been easier for the Fever to be without Clark if they still had Bonner, especially if Clark ends up missing a significant amount of time.
The Fever did not do well in the five games that Clark missed this season, only managing a 2-3 record without Clark in the lineup.
Clark is the best player that the Fever has. She's the one who can score from anywhere on the court and also gets the ball to her teammates in the right spots.
Aliyah Boston will now have to take over as the dominant scorer against the Sparks, along with Kelsey Mitchell. Boston is coming off a 31-point outburst against the Storm.
The hope is that Clark won't miss too much time with this new injury, but groin injuries can be tricky to deal with. Indiana will certainly be careful with her.
So far this season, Clark is averaging 18.2 points, five rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game. She is shooting just 39 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from three.
