Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- A fatal crash involving a truck and a motorcycle occured Friday morning on East 144th Avenue between Washington Street and Franklin Street.
The motorcycle rider was transported to a local hospital with with serious injuries and died shortly after, according to the Thornton Police Department. No one else involved in the crash was injured.
TPD said its preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle rider, a 21-year-old man, was traveling westbound on East 144th Avenue approaching Washington Street at a high rate of speed while "cutting in and out of traffic."
The department said it appeared the motorcyclist then lost control and crashed after striking the back end of the truck.
The crash caused a road closure of more than 3 hours, according to TPD, which said to "expect an extended closure" in a post on X at 9:24 a.m. The department later posted at 11:33 a.m. that the road had been reopened.
