DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver Union Station is calling all drag queens, kings and canines to a free Pride celebration this June.

Union Station is hosting Paws with Pride: A Doggie Drag Show on Saturday, June 21, inviting everyone and their dog (or other furry companions) to dress in drag for a fashion show and a chance to win a prize.

Trio of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ stars to headline Denver PrideFest’s Center Stage

Local drag queen Talia Tucker will host the event, according to a press release. There will be prizes for the best-dressed dogs, including a one-night stay at the dog-friendly Crawford Hotel, as well as raffles and giveaways throughout the day.

There will be five categories for the dog show:

  • Hollywood Hounds
  • Waggin Wild West
  • Tails and Tiaras
  • Doggie Decades
  • Canine Chronicles

Attendees will be able to document their fits and get a free dog portrait provided by Denver Pet Pics.

There will also be a pet-friendly market with artisans and pet-service vendors, including Canine Partners of the Rockies, Chuck & Dons, Ears Up, Pup, Pampered Paws, Woofies and Oat Paws. The Terminal Bar will be serving food and drink specials for the event.

Lineup announced for Denver’s Juneteenth Music Festival, parade

The event, co-presented by Sploot Veterinary Care, is free and will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside on the Termina Bar Patio and Wynkoop Plaza.

Attendees can register in advance to participate in the show, and they will receive a free Sploot swag bag and raffle entry.

A $5 donation is encouraged to support the dog training non-profit Canine Partners for the Rockies, but not required.

To cap off Pride Month, Denver PrideFest will take place on June 28 and 29 at Civic Center Park.
