Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) — Typical summer heat is still in the Denver weather forecast as the metro gets ready to end June and say hello to July; however, temperatures will briefly back off the next couple of days around the Denver region. At the same time, minor rain chances also return to the forecast.
Weather tonight: Quiet and mild

Temperatures overnight will only fall into the upper 50s and low 60s across the northeast region, underneath partly cloudy skies. No rain is forecasted. Winds will stay light from the south, around 5 to 10 miles per hour. Southeast Colorado and the western slope will only cool into the mid-60s.
Weather tomorrow: A couple afternoon storms possible

A "cold" front will push through northeast Colorado Sunday and knock temperatures back to seasonal values in the upper 80s in the afternoon. At the same time, spotty showers and storms will be possible starting in the mid-to-late afternoon, as well as starting in the foothills. Severe weather risk is low, but any storms would bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and maybe small hail. Temperatures would likely fall quickly, too.
The western slope and southeast Colorado, however, will stay very hot with highs near 100 degrees.
Looking ahead: Watching the Independence Day forecast
Monday starts the new week with a break from the heat when highs only reach the lower 80s. More isolated thunderstorms will be possible in the late afternoon. July starts with highs again in the upper 80s to low 90s, and mostly dry conditions are expected.

There's a good bit of uncertainty regarding the forecast for the Independence Day weekend. Highs Friday will likely be seasonally hot in the upper 80s and low 90s, but there are signs that spotty thunderstorms could return to the region. How widespread is uncertain still, as some models are drier for the holiday, while others are much more active.
