Weather today: Hot and breezy
There will be plenty of sunshine today, with another brisk wind that ushers in hot highs that reach the upper 90s. It should be just shy of the record high of 99 degrees. With that extra heat, today is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day.

There is a Heat Advisory for the Eastern half of the state from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is an Air Quality Alert for the Urban corridor of I-25 until 4 p.m. today. There are also Fire weather Warnings for the Western half of the state until midnight, with high winds and dry conditions.
Weather tonight: A warm night
The wind will slow slightly, but it'll stay brisk past midnight with mainly clear skies. Overnight low temperatures will dip into the lower 60s, keeping us above average.

Looking ahead: Cooler with storms next week
Sunday is still hot, but a few degrees cooler as highs reach the lower 90s with mainly sunny skies and a brisk wind. Monday is noticeably cooler with highs near the 80 degree mark and partly cloudy skies. Tuesday has chances for some afternoon storms with extra clouds and highs in the lower 80s.

Wednesday has the best storm chances for the week with partly cloudy skies and warm highs in the upper 70s. Thursday brings slightly warmer temperatures in the middle 80s with afternoon storm chances and extra clouds. Friday rounds out the week with mainly sunny skies and toasty highs in the upper 80s.
