DENVER (KDVR) - Mainly sunny skies are back Wednesday with seasonal highs across the Front Range, before triple-digit temperatures are expected in a few days.

Weather today: Seasonal afternoon

Mainly sunny skies are here for the middle of the week with light winds. Afternoon highs reach seasonal highs in the middle 80s.

Weather tonight: Clear skies

Skies will stay clear tonight with a light breeze picking up out of the southwest. Overnight low temperatures dip into the upper 50s, keeping Denver a few degrees above average tonight.

Looking ahead: Nearing record heat

Denver will warm into the middle 90s on Thursday afternoon as mainly sunny skies stay in the forecast. Friday could near triple digits and record highs with a forecast of 100 degrees. The record high for Friday and Saturday are both 99 degrees.

Saturday has a forecasted high of 99 degrees, so we may tie the record. Friday and Saturday have mainly sunny skies in the forecast.

Sunday is still hot with highs in the middle 90s, mostly sunny skies, and small chances for a shower. Monday starts off the next workweek with a mix of sun and clouds, small shower chances, and highs in the lower 80s.

Denver could also see a quick shower late on Tuesday afternoon as highs are close to seasonal averages in the middle 80s.
