DENVER (KDVR) — Temperatures soared back into the hot 90s on Friday across the Front Range and the heat will stick around in Denver weather with another round of hot 90s.

The average high in Denver is 87 degrees at this time of year. And, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, even though it will be above normal on Saturday, it will not get close to the 2018 record high of 105, the hottest temperature recorded in Denver's history.

These are the hottest temperatures recorded in Colorado

Weather tonight: Clear skies and cool temperatures

Passing evening clouds with gusty wind will diminish with sunset. Skies will be clear overnight. There will be a general south wind with speeds up to 15 mph. It will be cool with refreshing 40-degree temperatures in the Colorado mountains. There will be milder readings in the 50s and 60s across the plains and along the Front Range.

Weather tomorrow: Another sunny and hot day

The heat sticks around on Saturday with afternoon highs forecast to reach the 90s in most places across eastern Colorado and metro Denver. It will also be hot along the western portions of the state, with readings there also reaching the 90s. And, even the forecast highs in the 80s for the mountains are above average for this time of year.

Looking ahead: Scattered thunderstorm chances return

A cold front will slide across eastern Colorado on Saturday, returning temperatures to more seasonal levels in the upper 80s. There will also be a chance for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Those rain chances will continue on Monday as well.

The scattered storm will be limited on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, the storm chances will grow by the end of the week, including the 4th of July. It won't be a washout for the holiday and most storms that do form will move away from the Front Range in the early evening, just in time for area firework displays to commence.
