DENVER (KDVR) -- Travelers come to Denver for many attractions — sports, world-class dining, various entertainment, outdoor recreation — but they stay for the hospitality, sometimes even extending their trip, according to Travel and Leisure.

The travel magazine conducted its "World's Best Awards" survey for 2025, inviting readers to share their experiences and cast a vote in categories like hotels, cities, cruise lines and more. Hotels were rated based on rooms, location, service, food and value.

Denver ranks among America’s best cities in new list

With readers' comments, Travel and Leisure assembled a list of the five favorite hotels in Denver. Four are downtown, but "no two hotels on the list are the same in either appearance or personality."

Denver's 5 favorite hotels, according to Travel and Leisure readers

  1. Limelight Denver
  2. The Maven
  3. Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Denver Cherry Creek
  4. The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection
  5. Four Seasons Hotel Denver

The winning favorite was Limelight Denver. Readers praised the hotel's “fabulous restaurant and excellent service,” and its “great location” in the lower downtown area.

The magazine said Limelight is designed to connect travelers with the outdoors and serves as a great place to recover after adventures. Rooms come with plush bathrobes, local snacks and beverages, plus guests can get in-room spa service or reserve complimentary Therabody products. The magazine recommends trying the truffle fries and wagyu double cheeseburger at the on-site restaurant, Ajax Downtown.

Located at the Dairy Block, The Maven is a short walk away from a wide variety of dining and entertainment options. The hotel said in a press release that it "delivers an industrial hotel experience with an energetic lobby highlighting an eclectic mix of local art and handmade products delivered by a passionate staff."

The only favorite hotel that is not located downtown is Hotel Clio in Cherry Creek at No. 3, but the area is very walkable with lots of boutique shops, the Cherry Creek Mall, dining options and other entertainment nearby.

The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa features an eight-story atrium lobby with a stained-glass skylight, taking guests back to when it first opened in 1892. Readers enjoyed the elegant high tea experience with live music and guests dressed "in their finest."

At No. 5 is the Four Seasons Hotel Denver, which readers acknowledged as one of the best-run hotels with helpful staff and a "joyous" spa.
