DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Municipal Band has announced their free summer concert series, performances will be held in multiple parks and venues around the Denver metro area.

In a press release, the concerts are said to be taking place from July through September, and all ages are welcome to attend.

“Our concerts feature a wide range of music from patriotic to Latin music and everything in between, so there is truly something for everyone,” said Joseph Martin, artistic director and conductor of the Denver Municipal Concert Band. “Our goal is to make music accessible to all through our free summer concerts. We perform in parks across the metro area to ensure there is a concert near you. Bring a picnic and a blanket, sit back and enjoy the variety of music that we play.”

Formed in 1861, the Denver Municipal Band is the oldest professional concert band in the continental U.S. The organization initially formed to "bring culture to a mining town, before Denver was a city," but as since turned its mission to create community through music.

The free summer concert series locations include:

  • Central Park North Conservatory Green
  • Cheesman Park
  • Washington Park
  • Harvey Park
  • Mayfair Park
  • Southmoor Park

The concert series will highlight different performances from the organization's concert, jazz and brass quintet bands.
