DENVER (KDVR) — A deadly single-vehicle crash early Monday morning is now being reported as the 19th traffic-related death of 2025.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Airport Boulevard, south of Smith Road, District 2 officers received a report of a possible vehicle on fire. Aurora Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and found that a Jeep Renegade was "fully engulfed in flames," according to a police report from the Aurora Police Department.

Denver police say Flock cameras led to stop, seizure of 2 AK-47s, inert grenade, fentanyl

AFR put the fire out, and found that the driver of the Jeep Renegade had died. APD reported that there were no other people in the vehicle at that time.

Investigators believe that the driver of the Jeep Renegade was heading northbound on Airport Boulevard when it lost control, hit a tree, and then stopped in a nearby parking lot, where it then caught fire.

APD said that they believe speed could possibly be a factor in this single-vehicle crash.
