DENVER (KDVR) — Eleven years later, one taco company is trying to make it right with Denver Nuggets' star Nikola Jokic after his NBA Draft selection announcement was taken over by a Taco Bell commercial.

Thursday marks 11 years since Jokic was drafted by the Nuggets as the 41st pick in a memorable announcement, where Jokic's name appeared on screen during his selection, which was accompanied by a Taco Bell commercial showing its new Quesarito.

Nikola Jokic Says He’s Never Eaten Taco Bell Due to Iconic NBA Draft Moment

Now, one taco company is trying to resolve the beef.

Over a decade later, it came out in the NBA's "Road to Gold" series that Jokic has never had Taco Bell. "I think I've never had the Taco Bell just because of that," Jokic said in a feature video by the Nuggets.

In a newly released video, Old El Paso said in a social media post that "no one should be unjustly forced to boycott tacos," because 11 years without tacos is too long. While the taco company didn't specifically mention Jokic or Taco Bell by name, it's not exactly common for an NBA Draft selection to be interrupted by a taco commercial.

The video set out to right "taco wrongs" in an "important legal announcement." A woman in the video identified herself as a lawyer representing Old El Paso and said she'd get you years of tacos that may be legally yours.

"Did you or someone you know have your pro sports draft selection ruined by a taco commercial, and you were unjustly forced to boycott tacos? Then you might be entitled to taco compensation," a woman said in the video.

The video was accompanied by a massive, 11-year taco kit with over 2,800 servings and needing about 572 pounds of ground beef.

"Know your taco rights. Call the number below. Don't miss out on the taco restitution that you deserve, because nobody should go without tacos, especially for 11 years," the video said. "Old El Paso does not guarantee taco compensation if your draft selection was interrupted upon by a national chain."

Old El Paso is a food brand from General Mills specializing in Tex-Mex style taco kits, shells, seasonings and more.
