DENVER (KDVR) -- Weld County investigators are still searching for answers 36 years after a Colorado Springs girl disappeared and was found dead near Erie days later.

Tracey Disbrow, who also went by the name Tracey Ragains, was last seen by her roommates in Commerce City on July 9, 1989. After being reported missing, her body was found southeast of Erie in an irrigation ditch near Weld County Roads 4 and 7, according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office. She was 17 years old when she died.

Tracey was a witness set to testify in a trial involving narcotics, prostitution, and the arson of a Colorado Springs night club after El Paso County prosecutors used her as an informant. Her information had led to charges against multiple suspects, and the trial was set to begin shortly after she died.

“This case has been really frustrating because we had what we thought were really good leads,” one investigator told the Greeley Tribune in August 1989. “The more time that passes, the more stale it gets. We’re hoping someone will come forward who knows something.”

Now, 36 years later, there is still no information.

Anyone with information about the murder of Tracey Disbrow can call the Weld County Sheriff's Office tip line at 970-340-6464 or email to [email protected].
