Socceroos teenager Lucas Herrington has completed his move to English Premier League side Hull City.

The 18-year-old defender, who announced himself on the international stage with an impressive performance for Australia at the FIFA World Cup, has been signed from US club Colorado Rapids for an undisclosed fee.

Herrington has agreed to a five-year contract with the Tigers, who were promoted to the Premier League after winning the English Championship play-off final against Middlesbrough in May.

"The opportunity to play in the Premier League, one of the best leagues in the world, is a dream come true," Herrington said in a statement.

"I've woken up at all hours in the morning in Australia to watch these games. To be a part of it is so special.

"To hear from the club and coaching staff has been so exciting for me. I can't wait to meet all the boys and the fans. I'm here to work hard and hopefully get a lot of games in the Premier League."

Herrington, born in Brisbane, made his A-League debut for Brisbane Roar in December 2024.

He played 29 matches for the Roar before moving to Colorado.

Hull begins its Premier League campaign with a home match against Manchester United on August 22.
