(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is currently investigating a late-night incident that left one person dead.

The incident occurred at around 11:45 p.m.on Thursday, June 26, near Platte Avenue and Cedar Street. The shooting was reported as a drive-by, and police say it seems to be a road rage incident.

The investigation revealed that as three vehicles were driving, there was a "minor disturbance" between two of the drivers. All vehicles then pulled to the side of the road, and the individuals engaged in an argument that turned physical. At that time, the driver of one of the cars retrieved a firearm and shot at another driver.

The person who was shot was found dead on scene.

Officers contacted the other two drivers and took them to the Police Operations Center for interviews.

One man was arrested for murder in the second degree. At this time, the identities of the deceased and the suspect are not being released.

CSPD said there were a few witnesses on scene. Anyone who was on the scene or has video of the incident is asked to call the CSPD Communication Center. At the moment, police are investigating the incident.
