Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) -- Several restaurants across Colorado were recognized for their cuisine and wine selections with excellence awards presented by Wine Spectator.
The publication presented awards to recognize restaurants with interesting wine selections that are appropriate for the cuisine they serve and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
Over 3,800 restaurants from all 50 states and over 80 countries and territories were awarded in three categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award.
Less than 100 were crowned with the Grand Award, which is the highest award and is "given to restaurants that show an uncompromising, passionate devotion to the quality of their wine programs," according to the website. The wine lists typically have 1,000 or more selections.
Of the 97 restaurants crowned with the highest award, three are in Colorado.
Barolo Grill
Barolo Grill, located at 3030 E. 6th Ave. in Denver, is known for its wine tastings and events, private event space, large parties and special occasions, according to Wine Spectator. They serve Northern Italian cuisine that diners can pair with their choice from a selection of 2,105 different wines.
Element 47
Element 47 is a restaurant located in The Little Nell, a five-star restaurant in Aspen. They serve American cuisine and offer 3,585 different wines to choose from. Wine Spectator said Element 47 is known for wine tastings and events, outdoor dining, sustainability, private event spaces and its historic location.
Flagstaff House Restaurant
Flagstaff House Restaurant offers 2,900 wines to choose from alongside a menu of American cuisine. Located at 1138 Flagstaff Road in Boulder, this restaurant is known for its great view and natural setting, as well as its wine tasting and events, focus on sustainability and other special occasions.
A total of 92 restaurants across the Centennial State were awarded. A map and a full list of the award winners around the world are available on the Wine Spectator website.
