Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDENVER (KDVR) — As winds began to rise in the Denver metro on Wednesday afternoon, multiple agencies responded to Chatfield State Park for a water rescue.
The incident was reported by South Metro Fire Rescue, which said that Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers and Jefferson County officials were heading that direction as well.
At about 4 p.m., South Metro Fire Rescue said it had set up a unified command with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, CPW and West Metro Fire Rescue at the north boat ramp of the park.
The agency said that there are reports of one person in the water by a group of bikers, and the agency's dive team was actively on the water searching for a last scene location. The agency said that "weather is moving into the area."
The agency said that there were two incidents at Chatfield State Park on Wednesday, with one person now counted as safe, and crews were attempting to locate the second. At about 4:20 p.m., South Metro Fire Rescue said that all parties were located and safe, and said no one was overboard in either incident.
A biker had called about a boat on the rocks, and the second incident involved a boat that drifted into the trees and is safe.
The scene was cleared as of about 4:30 p.m.
