DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver police say one person has died after a shooting northeast of Coors Field overnight Sunday.

The shooting happened in the 2200 block of Blake Street, police said just after midnight on X. Police initially said one person was transported to a hospital, but a later Sunday morning update reported that person has died.

Denver police confront protesters near Coors Field; 17 total arrests made Saturday night

The shooting happened just two blocks away from an earlier Saturday night police clash with protesters at 20th and Blake streets following a day of nationwide "No Kings" protests and marches across Denver streets, but police did not say the shooting was related to any protests.

Police said they were working on suspect information but had not released any details about what led up to the shooting as of Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
