Slotting in between their lighter Macro and the meaty Trail Boss, the new WTB Peacekeeper is designed to roll fast and light, but grip good and hard.

And, actually, you can choose between their Fast Rolling (firmer center tread and supportive shoulder knobs) and High Grip (softer side knobs for maximum cornering traction) compounds to get the exact tire you want.

Smaller center knobs with good spacing help it poke between loose scree to find the hard ground underneath, and bite into softer dirt, too. WTB says it also helps the tire shed muck in wet conditions.

Side knobs are bigger, with deeper support on the outer edge to hold your line when leaning deep into a corner. It uses WTB’s TriTec triple compound rubber, putting a stiffer base under the knobs to support them, and softer, grippier rubber on top.

The Peacekeeper gets their SG2 casing, with a full bead-to-bead nylon layer for improved puncture resistance, and two-layer overwrap of the main 60tpi casing under the tread blocks.

It comes only in a 29×2.4″ (62mm on 30mm internal-width rim) size. Claimed weights are 998g (Light High Grip) and 1024g (Light Fast Rolling). Our sample hit that mark almost exactly at 1020g.

The Peacekeeper retails for $76.95/€69.95 each. Available now in the US, and rolling out in Europe soon.
