Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe all-new WTB Peacekeeper is designed to roll fast without sacrificing grip and control, and it looks promising as a versatile bikepacking tire. Get to know it here…
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new tread pattern from WTB with some promise from a do-everything bikepacking perspective, but the newly announced WTB Peacekeeper looks like a solid option for folks who regularly find themselves on singletrack and rugged doubletrack.
The Peacekeeper is meant to fill the gap between the lightweight Macro and the more burly Trail Boss. It features a nice mix of tightly packed, fast-rolling center knobs and more aggressive enduro-style outer knobs for traction on corners and steep descents. According to WTB, the Peacekeeper “delivers a balance of speed and traction for technical climbs, loose corners, and long days in the saddle.”
Like the new Macro, the Peacekeeper is only available in 29 x 2.4″, which might be disappointing for anyone who loves the extra floatation of a 2.6″ tire for bikepacking. It’s built up around WTB’s TriTec compound, which uses three distinct rubber durometers layered within the tread: a stiff base for support, a firmer centerline for rolling speed, and grippy outer edges for control where it matters most.
Customers have the choice of a Fast Rolling model (1,024 grams) that prioritizes speed and efficiency with firmer center tread and supportive shoulders, or the High Grip model (998 grams) that uses softer rubber compounds for increased cornering traction and brake power. Check out an informative overview video that WTB put together below:
The Peacekeeper comes packaged in 100-percent recycled materials with zero plastic, whether purchased directly through WTB or via your local dealer. The tires are available now in the United States and will be on shelves across Europe in the coming weeks. The WTB Peacekeeper has an MSRP of $76.95 (€69.95). A reminder that members of the Bikepacking Collective can save 30 percent on all non-sale items from WTB!
