CJP asks protesters to go home after talks with Centre, Pradhan's exit

Press conference after India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party has called off its protest at Jantar Mantar, which has lasted for more than a month. This call was made after the government accepted their key demands, including the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan."Government accepted all our demands after 36 days of protest; we urge everyone to peacefully withdraw from protest sites," CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said.

"Cockroach Janta Party declares that we withdraw the agitation in good faith, with the understanding that the agreed-upon terms will be executed within the agreed-upon timelines," Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said after talks with the government.

Union minister J.P. Nadda confirmed that the government will take steps for the withdrawal of FIRs against peaceful protesters and provide financial compensation within rules to families of NEET suicide victims. The announcement came hours after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as education minister, taking moral responsibility for the NEET paper leak controversy that had sparked nationwide protests. The CJP had been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding Pradhan's resignation over alleged examination irregularities. The movement gained momentum after Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest with an indefinite hunger strike on June 28, drawing widespread attention to the cause.
