Global export sales for fresh and frozen strawberries combined for all countries generated US$6 billion worth of cashflow during 2025.

Overall exports of strawberries increased by 22.4% compared to $4.91 billion five years earlier in 2021.

Year over year, globally exported strawberries accelerated by 14.8% compared to $5.24 billion for 2024.

Renown for its bright red color, juicy texture, sweetness and distinct aroma, a strawberry is a popular fruit eaten raw or consumed in prepared foods and drinks including puddings, jams, pies, ice cream, milkshakes and juices.

Fresh strawberries accounted for $4.14 billion worth of worldwide strawberry exports or more than two-thirds (68.9%) of the overall total. That percentage exceeds the 73.4% for 2024 and 71.9% in 2021.

Exported frozen strawberries represent $1.87 billion or the remaining 31.1% of the global strawberry sum (versus 25.2% for frozen strawberry exports in 2024).

The value of globally exported fresh strawberries grew in value by 7.9% since 2024 when fresh strawberries exports were valued at $3.84 billion.

Shipments of frozen strawberries in 2025 expanded by 33.7% compared to $1.4 billion for 2024.

For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 081010 for fresh strawberries. The 6-digit prefix for frozen strawberries is 081110.

Below are the 15 countries that exported the highest dollar value worth of raw strawberries during 2025.

  1. Spain: US$940.3 million (22.7% of exported fresh strawberries)
  2. Mexico: $688.4 million (16.6%)
  3. United States: $672.2 million (16.2%)
  4. Netherlands: $461.6 million (11.1%)
  5. Greece: $267.3 million (6.5%)
  6. Belgium: $265 million (6.4%)
  7. Egypt: $172.6 million (4.2%)
  8. Morocco: $73.5 million (1.8%)
  9. South Korea: $70.5 million (1.7%)
  10. Italy: $66 million (1.6%)
  11. France: $48.9 million (1.2%)
  12. Japan: $45 million (1.1%)
  13. mainland China: $44.5 million (1.1%)
  14. South Africa: $43.3 million (1%)
  15. Germany: $41.1 million (1%)

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 94.1% of globally exported fresh strawberries in 2025.

Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing exporters of fresh strawberries from 2024 to 2025 were: Greece (up 46.4%), Germany (up 37.1%), mainland China (up 30.7%) and Italy (up 29.4%).

Those countries that posted year-over-year declines in their exported fresh strawberries sales were: Morocco (down -14.1%), Mexico (down -12.6%) and the United States of America (down -2%).

  2. Poland: $154.5 million (8.3%)
  3. Mexico: $153.7 million (8.2%)
  4. Chile: $122.5 million (6.6%)
  5. mainland China: $100.3 million (5.4%)
  6. Morocco: $81.8 million (4.4%)
  7. Germany: $78.8 million (4.2%)
  8. Belgium: $73.3 million (3.9%)
  9. Netherlands: $71.7 million (3.8%)
  10. Peru: $69 million (3.7%)
  11. Türkiye: $57.8 million (3.1%)
  12. United States: $50.8 million (2.7%)
  13. Spain: $33.9 million (1.8%)
  14. Serbia: $18.6 million (1%)
  15. Guatemala: $16 million (0.9%)

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 94% worth of globally exported frozen strawberries for 2025.

Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing frozen strawberries exporters from 2024 to 2025 were: Germany (up 129.6%), Egypt (up 76.4%), Türkiye (up 51.5%) and Belgium (up 41.2%).

A pair of listed countries that posted year-over-year declines in their exported frozen strawberries sales, specifically the United States of America (down -7.7%) and Mexico (down -5.3%).
